Résumé | Françoise Aubin's research has largely developed the two topics of childhood and horses. This article explores more closely the relation between children and horses among Mongolian people. Before weaning off both child and foal, the Mongols' symbolic representations as well as material practices put their taming processes in the same category. After an analysis of these taming processes the article examines the couple constituted by young riders and rapid horses during the races of the Naadam. The first part underlines the dissociation of child and foal during weaning off to constitute specific individualities. The second one considers the couple of rider and horse of the Naadam in order to examine how these individualities build a complementary relationship. |
